SUNSHINE TO RETURN TODAY: The sun will make a return appearance today. At least for a little while. At least we think it will. It had better hurry, because clouds will be thickening again tonight in advance of our next storm system. Highs today should make the middle 50s across the area.

RAIN TONIGHT/TUESDAY: By tonight, low pressure will be forming over Louisiana. Rain will move into the state late tonight. Rainfall amounts will average one half to three quarters of an inch. As the rain ends from the west during the day Tuesday, colder air will follow. As temperatures fall, there could be a brief changeover to snow before the precipitation ends completely. No problems are anticipated. Temperatures Tuesday night will fall into the lower and middle 20s. Wednesday will feature clearing skies, but with cold air advection occurring on the back of a strong northwesterly wind, the mercury will struggle to get out of the 30s.
